NYC~Fashion Week~Fall 2010

I promised to be back with details and photo's.. Twinkle by Wenlan is the show I worked on in NYC Bryant Park..It is always an amazing time fun,fast&crazy..If you can't follow directions you should not be there..(LOL) How it works is we have a Key Artist who creates the look on a model for us (this is done one time only) the look that they create is to be replicated exactly the way you are shown to do before your model leaves the chair the Key will come and check if your look is not exactly the way you were shown it sometimes will be wiped off right there in front of everyone..(yyyiiikes right)  So my Key Artist for this show was so amazing his name was Gianpaolo Ceciliato along with him was MAC Cosmetic's Senior Artist Luke..

At this particular show we were each assigned two models both of my models were Ford Agency Models.. The skin was matted out using MAC-Face & Body with plenty of Invisible Powder on top dusted on with a large powder brush... Eyes dark and smokey with Nude liner on the inside all of the colors that were used on the eyes are not out yet for sale..but soon they will be in store to purchase.. Amazing look, detailed and lashes were placed on as well.  What happens is you must move quickly!My last model came in with a FULL FACE of make up from her last show&we couldn't get off her lashes..I got a tap on my shoulder saying you have FIVE minutes..Her eyes were pouring with tears from all of the rubbing & make up being put right on top..Which left me with runny eyes for my lash glue.. Here is a very smart suggestion make FRIENDS with the other Artist's if you don't know them I don't care what you think you will need them.. Luckily we had four of us on one girl (poor girl) we are trained to attack!!(ahha)We are trained to do this and we all know what the deal is,when she is pulled from your chair make sure you have pockets & get ready to run&chase after her... FUN FUN FUN! Then all the screaming begins!!!  Luckily she was completed and we all run to the line up with touch-up, lotions, & anything that is needed... It is amazing time and I am truly blessed to be in the midst of it all..

This past week

I am apologizing there hasn't been any updates in the past week..I am here real quick to fill you all in. I have been working and it has been super crazy this past week.  It has been "Trial-Mania" and we have been booking up a storm for 2010!!!! I also have been preparing for this week ahead which is "Fashion Week" in NYC once again I will be in Bryant park and this season I am working on the team with MAC Cosmetics!!!  It is always a fun, stressful crazy time but its so exciting and I will be sure to bring you all back some photo's!!!! In additional to all of this I have been working with my private client's such as this past Saturday I was on the Upper Westside in Manhattan at David Bryan(Keyboardist of Bon Jovi) apartment doing the make up for his fiance Lexi Quaas for their birthday bash in Gramercy Park.  Also, I will be introducing you all to my "Lead Artist" Denise DelRusso who is already an artist herself but has been training and shadowing with me on all these exciting events. Please bare with me this next week for it will be hectic but I promise to be back all ALL the exciting details.

Melissa's Bridal Make Up with Reality Star "Dina Manzo"

So has anyone ever wondered who gave "Dina Manzo" (Reality star of Real Housewives of NJ) her wedding day look? Well, it was me..Dina and I crossed paths just days before her wedding as she approached me on my opinion on false lashes, not knowing she was getting married for the first half hour until she was leaving and asked if I could come to her house in two days she was getting married and asked if I would mind if I was being tape for live television because VH1 was going to be filming for the reality show "My Big Fat Fabulous Wedding"!!(Incase you don't know me I am VERY camera shy&the thought real quick made me want to run..lol)   During Dina's make over we had alot of fun, alot of laughs.. She was a pleasure to work with

 I did not make Dina beautiful because she already is, but what I did with Dina was "Enhanced" her own unique features!!   Using multiple colors of MAC Eyeshadows (colors such as Folie,Haux,Naked Lunch,Embark,Sketch,a littel Smut&of course my favorite pigment Naked)End Lashes were applied, her lip color was Brownie Pink by Bobbi, Viva Glam V with Nymphette Gloss by MAC, Cheeks were highlighted by another favorite of mine "Belightful" shimmer & Blushbaby blush mixed with DollyMix by MAC

I also attended Dina's wedding and stayed by her side and made sure she was at all times camera ready, Dina's make up was free-hand and was not airbrushed, my choice of foundation on Dina was Luminous Silk by Armani

Jenn's WEDDING DAY Please Watch

Please take a quick moment to watch the link below of my beautiful bride Jennifer Martinelli.  Please notice how her make up did remain through ALL of her happy tears!! Jennifer stayed "Flawless"  Jennifer was Airbrushed probably about three hours before her day had even started!!

Sade Baderinwa's Make Over with Melissa

Most of us know the Sade Baderinwa who is famously known for her flawless beauty, she lights up the set on the 5:00pm Eyewitness News.. We all wonder at times what are they wearing, how did they get that look well I can give you some of those details.. Sade is flawlessly beautiful with out her make up  but of course for live television we need to just "Enhance" her "Natural" Beauty!!

Please Note: Bill was also given a make up application by me as well (free-hand) no airbrush anyone interested on his look just ask!

Sade Baderinwa's look is not created with Airbrushing I do it by free-hand!

Step#1- (Face is always fully moisturized before applying any product,)Foundation is applied with a wet sponge(my preference I never use a dry sponge) RCMA Foundation is used in 2colors to get her perfect color

-Schinto 11 & Iv RCMA Foundation

Step#2- for the most part I go directly to her eyes reason-being is that shadow will fall and I like to wipe before the concelear(keep in mind we are on a time crunch so all of this is being done the best way that works for me to get her out in time, there are no rules you can do it any steps on yourself that you would like)starting on the eyes I will list the shadow's used by MAC

- base on her lid is Bamboo  -ontop of the Bamboo is color Era

-crease Saddle  -with a little Mulch mixed in

-Browbone is highlighted with a very light concelear and blended in to give a faded look

-Outter corner Smut  -Underneath liner is also shadow Print-with Smut ontop
-Liquid liner ontop of eye by Make Up Forever (one of my FAVES)waterproof stay's on forever!!

Step#3-Concelear time- Salomn concelear by: Eve Pearl
Step#4-Powder- Mineralized Skin Finish in Med/Dark
Step#5-Blush by:MAC Razin with a little Plum Foolery mixed ontop 
Step#6-Contour on cheekbones Blunt Blush by:MAC
Step#7-Mascara by: Lancome
Step#8-Lip by Mac Ravashing with Eve Pearl gloss ontop.

There it is..Sade's look.. She is specefic on her look and I am able to give her the exact look that she needs therefore if anyone needs a lesson or would like me to create a specefic look don't be afraid to ask!! Master Class with Melanie Mills Artist of "Dancing with the STARS"

Of course you know we must talk about Melanie!! Dancing with the Stars is one of my faves and always wondered WHO was so "Lucky" to have the job of doing all of the dancer's on that show..Well last month I got to sit in a two hour seminar while Melanie taught a seminar and told her story of how she ended up on the hottest show on ABC!! Just like it usually happens anywhere else she was a "Fill-In" (all of us artists know that word oh so well)..she loved it and just awhile later someone was let go and Melanie stepped up and went for it and got it..she is now the key and over see's everyone!!(Sooo lucky) Just a few tips she taught how they use up to "SEVEN" pairs of lashes on ONE person!!!..She gave her version of a hot glittery eye where she placed duo glue(eye lash adhesive)directly to the enitre eyelid and then packed on the Glitter..Melanie loves paint sticks from MAC Pro and uses alot of MAC Pigments!!  She was sweet as ever I got to meet her and talk to her after the seminar.."Very" Humble and definitely is grateful to have her position!!!  But I did have to ask her who was her favorite this past season she said she adored them all but Mya sticks out her in mind!!!
